Women now represent more than 60% of MocaMoca’s borrower base as the digital lending platform surpasses 20 million active users in the Philippines.
The figures demonstrate MocaMoca’s growing reach among Filipinos who manage household budgets and micro-enterprise finances, particularly women who have historically encountered limited access to formal sources of credit.
Operated by SEC-registered Copperstone Lending Inc., MocaMoca has delivered secure and transparent digital lending services to Filipino borrowers for more than five years.
The 20-million-user milestone comes at a time when access to formal financial services remains uneven. Only about half of Filipino adults hold a formal financial account, according to the World Bank’s 2025 Global Findex Report. This remains below the East Asia and Pacific regional average.
Data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ 2025 Consumer Finance and Inclusion Survey shows gradual movement towards regulated lending, with 16% of adult borrowers now choosing formal financial institutions.
However, significant barriers continue to prevent consumers from securing credit. TransUnion’s Q2 2026 Consumer Pulse Study found that nearly half of Filipinos intend to apply for credit, but 60% withdraw from the process because of cost, eligibility requirements or other challenges.
“Many Filipinos still face barriers when accessing formal credit. Our goal is to remove those barriers through a lending experience that is simple, transparent, and built around the needs of borrowers, while maintaining the highest standards of responsibility and consumer protection,” said David Balamon, Chief Executive Officer of Copperstone Lending Inc.
MocaMoca provides collateral-free loans of up to ₱50,000 through a digital application process that requires only one valid government ID. Its automated approval system operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, enabling qualified borrowers to receive secure fund disbursements in as fast as five minutes.
Borrowers can receive and repay their loans using GCash, Maya, Coins.ph or GrabPay through direct integrations built into the platform.
MocaMoca also offers a structured credit growth path designed to encourage responsible financial management over time. Borrowers are provided with scalable credit limits, transparent terms and repayment schedules aligned with their paydays.
The platform is currently among the 10 most-downloaded digital lending applications on Google Play in the Philippines, further reflecting continued demand for regulated digital credit.
“As digital finance continues to evolve, our focus remains on helping more Filipinos access formal credit responsibly. We’ll continue investing in responsible innovation that makes borrowing more accessible, transparent, and secure, while supporting the country’s broader financial inclusion goals,” Balamon added.
